Hi there!

I came to ceramics wanting to make things with my hands, drawn to the wheel for its promise of symmetry. What I discovered instead was a practice in letting go. Clay teaches you quickly that control is an illusion—it tells you when it's been overworked, lets you know when it's ready to trim, demands patience at every turn.

This is what keeps me coming back to my wheel at The Pottery Studio, where I’ve been a member for over 3 years. Each piece is a dance between intention and discovery, with different clay bodies meeting experimental glazes, and placement in the kiln determining whether a bowl emerges seafoam or storm cloud. The kiln gods, as we call them, always have the final say.

My work has evolved from those early days of safe choices—small, thick pieces with predictable glazes. Now I find myself wrestling with finicky porcelain, marbling different clay bodies together, layering glazes without knowing exactly how they'll interact.

Whether you're here for a morning matcha ritual or an evening's intermission, these pieces are made to hold your daily moments with the same care that went into their making.
